Before Halloween, we went to our neighborhood greengrocer to buy pumpkins. As I'd mentioned, the children had to forego the usual hay maze because of the Texas drought, but we did find a small petting zoo. My favorite moment was when Gwendolyn called her brother over to one of the pens, saying, "Casper, come look at these friendly goats!"
