It's official -- Gwendolyn is riding her bike without training wheels. She's been wanting to for a while, but her bike is big and *very* heavy for some reason. Last week we picked up a slightly smaller but much lighter bike on freecycle and she's been eager to ride every day. Tonight she got to the point of being able to pedal a good 10-15 feet before losing her balance. She's so proud and I'm sure she'll (literally) be riding circles around us before the weekend is through.

i love freecycle. i never got anything, but i loved being able to talk about my old stuff in such a way that people lept at the chance to claim it, and haul it away from my house. it's especially great when one is moving.
Its so fun when they learn to ride a 2 wheel bike, they feel so grown up and independent!
Congratulations Gwendolyn! Being able to ride a bike opens up so many new opportunities. Have fun!
Wow, she is growing up very fast....what will be next?
